Cultural Center │Wiltz
The project is located in a busy urban area in Wiltz and involves a listed building, protected at the municipal level. Freestanding and open on all four of its facades, it constitutes a focal point within the urban fabric, requiring a highly constrained design approach. In collaboration with the INPA, an almost complete protection of the building was established, including the interior and all facades except the rear. The project entails its transformation into a multifunctional facility, with a strong focus on a cultural center. The main challenges were integrating the program into the existing volume with minimal interventions, as well as organizing the circulation to meet fire safety standards despite preserving the original wooden staircase. The annex, designed as a discreet addition, complements the existing structure through a restrained approach to form and materials, resulting in a cohesive ensemble that bridges heritage and contemporary use.
