Family house in Rodange

This project, located in Rodange, small and pinteresque town in Luxembourg, presents a sophisticated contemporary multi-family residence characterized by a rhythmic interplay of geometric volumes and a refined tonal palette. The building’s massing is defined by a striking cantilevered upper story that features soft, radiused corners, effectively softening the rectilinear silhouette and creating a fluid transition between the front and side elevations. The facade utilizes a high-contrast material strategy, pairing a textured slate-grey monochromatic render on the primary volumes with a deep-charcoal vertical-slat rainscreen at the ground plane, which provides a tactile, rhythmic base and integrates the garage and entry points into a cohesive datum. Deeply recessed fenestration and slender minimalist profiles emphasize the structural depth of the envelope, while a prominent integrated terrace—finished with an elegant black steel balustrade—provides private outdoor amenity space that overlooks the landscaped foreground. The composition is grounded by a clean-lined concrete plinth and low-profile masonry planters, transitioning the structure into its manicured surroundings. Bathed in crisp, directional daylight, the rendering highlights the subtle grain of the exterior finishes and the precise architectural joinery, presenting a vision of modern urban living that balances bold sculptural expression with functional domesticity.
